Weather forecasters are predicting the coldest Melbourne Cup for a quarter of a century as an icy blast is set to hit Melbourne.

After last year’s crowd was capped at just 10,000 people due to COVID-19 restrictions, up to 90,000 people are expected to pack into the stands at Flemington.
