Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky capped off LIV Golf’s inaugural season on Sunday with a kiss on the course.
Moments after Johnson and his 4 Aces GC squad captured the first-ever team championship crown at Trump National Doral Miami, the 38-year-old golfer embraced wife Gretzky on the 18th green.
The longtime couple, who tied the knot earlier this year, went on to celebrate with Johnson’s teammates, Pat Perez, Talor Gooch, and Patrick Reed, as the foursome earned the top $16 million prize or $4 million a piece.
“It has been amazing,” Johnson said, according to CBS Sports. “Obviously, the fans are what makes it. This week has been incredible. The whole season has just gotten better and better and then obviously this finale has been unbelievable. … Coming down the stretch here, you couldn’t draw it up any better with me and Cam [Smith] battling it out to win the team championship.”
Gretzky also posted a sultry photo to Instagram, captioned “aces,” to celebrate the victory.
In his first season with LIV Golf, Johnson earned over $35 million. The former Masters champion was reportedly paid around $125 million to make the leap from the PGA Tour to the Saudi-backed league.
Gretzky, the 33-year-old daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, has been supporting Johnson throughout the season. Leading up to this weekend’s tournament, Gretzky attended LIV Golf’s welcome bash, recently sharing snaps of the soiree on Instagram.
It’s been a memorable year for Johnson and Gretzky, who wed in Tennessee this past April. Joined by friends and family — including their two young sons, Tatum, 7, and 5-year-old River — the couple was serenaded at their lavish nuptials by Kid Rock, who performed a rendition of Chris Stapleton’s “Joy of My Life.”
Gretzky and Johnson originally got engaged in 2013.
