Love is in Long Island’s air.
Nassau and Suffolk counties are truly taking Valentine’s Day to heart this year with several wonderful and out-of-the-box ways to spend Feb. 14.
Come Friday, couples can soar the skies in a World War II plane, explore the romance of the night sky and even order a heart-shaped pizza hand-delivered by a driver sporting a lavish suit, to name a few activities.
These are the most fun and romantic Valentine’s Day excursions on LI this year.
Fly in a combat-used WWII plane
Here’s one way to bring your relationship to new heights. For the first time ever, the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport offers couples seats on board a C-47 airplane used by the allies in Europe during World War II.
“We wanted to really do something fun and new this year,” Jacky Clyman of the American Airpower Museum told The Post. “What better way to do that than getting in a real troop transport plane from World War II?”
There will be a special scenic flight over the ocean on Friday at 11 a.m. and a second one at noon. The 20-minute trip costs $350 per couple or $195 for solo flyers.

Stargaze inside at Vanderbilt Planetarium
This is a chance to show your honey they really mean the universe to you.
The indoor Reichert Planetarium at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport is putting on a new and special Valentine’s Day show called Night Sky Love. It is dedicated to how civilizations past told stories of love and heroism through the constellations.
Tickets for the 2 p.m. show are $20 for adults.

Meet the one — or many at speed dating
You don’t have to be in a relationship to make the most out of V-Day.
The organization 7 in Heaven is putting together a speed dating event for women ages 30 to 42 and men ages 32 to 44 on Friday night at Babylon’s Post Office Cafe from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The seven-minute per round event costs $45, and those who hit it off are welcome to attend a larger afterparty Saturday night at The Clubhouse in New Hyde Park at 7 p.m.

Make a card for your favorite fish
It’s one way to know you’re with a catch.
For the first time, the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium lets guests make Valentine’s Day cards for their favorite fish, turtles, and frogs from Friday through Sunday. They will all be proudly displayed on the little aquatic critters tanks.
This family-friendly arts and crafts activity will run from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. and is free with the cost of $7 general admission.

Heart-shaped pizza delivered by suit
You really can give your sweetie a pizza your heart this year.
Mike’s Underground in Amityville, a well-known delivery-only pie joint, is offering several different heart-shaped pizzas to order from — with even more of a fun twist involving some dashing-looking dashers.
“Our drivers deliver the hearts in full suits — tie, jacket, pants, the whole nine yards. You can also get a rose or some sort of flower with it to make it even more special,” owner Michael Vittorio Esposito told The Post of his near-decade tradition.
“A lot of places don’t like to do heart-shaped pies because of how much effort it takes. “But I’ve had special pans made for this, and we really embrace it.”
This Friday from noon to 8 p.m., famished couples can enjoy cutely named funghi, pepperoni, pesto, and spinach artichoke pies, each priced at $30.
