Halloween is the perfect time for fans worldwide to transform into their favorite celebrity for the day — and sometimes celebrities take inspiration from fellow stars.
Miley Cyrus put her best foot forward in 2013 when she recreated Lil Kim’s iconic 1999 VMAs look. Just like the “Crush on You” rapper, the “Midnight Sky” singer donned a long purple wig and matching jumpsuit. To complete the costume, Cyrus also made sure that her left breast was out and covered with a purple pasty — the portion of the outfit that initially drummed up buzz at the time.
Cyrus’ efforts allowed her to earn high praise from the “Lady Marmalade” hitmaker, herself. “Awwww. Look at my baby @mileycyrus tonight!!! Looking GORGEOUS!!!” she tweeted. “I wish I was there to squeeze your boob 🙂 🙂 Love U so much !!!! #mytwin.”
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian stunned when she arrived at the Casamigos Halloween party in 2017 dressed up in Cher’s 1973 Oscars look. By the KKW Beauty mogul’s side was longtime pal Jonathan Cheban, who went as Cher’s ex-husband and former musical collaborator, Sonny Bono.
The Moonstruck actress raved about Kardashian’s recreation, tweeting: “Woke To See You Are Me 4 🎃 You Look BEAUTIFUL Little Armenian Sister💋.”
Kardashian previously channeled the “Believe” songstress while attending the 2015 Met Gala, where she arrived in a Roberto Cavalli dress that took inspiration from the Bob Mackie outfit Cher wore to the fashion event in its debut year.
For Halloween in 2018, Rita Ora fully transformed into Post Malone. She donned a wig, faux facial hair and fake versions of the “Better Now” artist’s signature face tattoos.
The “Your Song” singer’s take on Malone was so impressive, The Hollywood Reporter mistakenly confused her for the Grammy nominee. The publication tweeted about Malone’s planned performance for the 2019 Grammy Awards, but they mistakenly used a photo of Ora in costume as the “Sunflower” hitmaker.
“When I looked at that [tweet], I was like, ‘Someone’s getting fired,’” she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2019. “That was so funny. Everyone kept tweeting me, and I was like, ‘Hey, am I performing at the Grammys? Oh, it’s not me.’”
