President Biden arrived in Manhattan Monday to attend a memorial service at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for Donald Blinken, the father of Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
A source told The Post that the service will be held in the Met’s Temple of Dendur and that former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were invited as well.
The White House kept the purpose of Biden’s visit to New York City under wraps — leading to apparently false word reaching some New York City workers that he was there for a fundraiser supporting Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Donald Blinken died Sept. 22 at age 96.
An obituary in the New York Times described Blinken as “a financier, patron of the arts and Democratic Party donor who became an ambassador to Hungary, helping to inspire the career in politics and diplomacy of his son.”
The White House and State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
